Job Summary

Join the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt - BKA) as an AI Platform Engineering Scientist in Wiesbaden. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing a modern AI platform within a cloud environment, focusing on scalability and security. Your day-to-day activities will involve conceptualizing the AI platform, advising clients on their specific AI and cloud needs, optimizing AI hardware resource utilization through virtualization, and integrating the AI infrastructure with existing BKA cloud services. Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific higher education (university diploma, Magister or Master) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable STEM field with an IT focus. Alternatively, comparable skills and experience with a completed STEM degree (Diploma [FH] or Bachelor) with IT component and at least four years of professional experience, or an IT-focused vocational training qualification and at least eight years of professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience and expertise in AI and Large Language Model (LLM) systems and associated products.
  • Practical experience with the operation and design of AI and LLM systems.
  • Initial practical experience working in agile teams.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a relevant role if holding a STEM degree (Diploma [FH] or Bachelor) with IT component.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a relevant role if holding an IT-focused vocational training qualification.

  • Willingness for flexible working hours. Occasional business travel (2-3 events per year) primarily for training and conferences. A verifiable proof of English language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is desirable.
