Job Summary

This permanent full-time position at the Thünen Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries in Rostock involves supporting the National Data Collection Program (DCF) through a combination of laboratory work and field research at sea. The successful candidate will conduct scientific experiments and data collection on various vessels, ranging from small 7-meter boats to 70-meter research ships, as well as on commercial fishing vessels. Key responsibilities include processing fresh fish samples, assisting with age determination of commercial species, and managing data entry into institutional databases. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on scientific work and are comfortable working in maritime environments.
