Job Summary

This part-time position (19.5 hours per week) within the Social Affairs Department of the City of Ulm focuses on the financial management and controlling of a substantial budget of approximately €130 million. As a Budgeting and Controlling Officer, you will be responsible for advising grant recipients, processing and auditing grant applications from independent organizations, and drafting formal agreements. Your daily tasks include planning, managing, and monitoring budget allocations, as well as applying for and settling external funding from state authorities. You will also provide financial support for specific projects and prepare decision templates for the City Council. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in public management or business administration who enjoys working independently within a supportive municipal team. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Public Management, Business Administration, or a comparable university degree.

Experience

  • Professional experience in municipal budgeting or financial controlling
  • Experience in processing grant applications and verifying proofs of use
  • Experience in applying for and managing external funding (e.g., state-level funds)
  • Proven experience in drafting formal agreements and council decision templates
  • Demonstrated experience in independent project financial management
