Job Summary

As the Faculty Managing Director for the Faculty of Biosciences at Heidelberg University, you will lead the administrative operations of one of Germany's premier biological research and teaching institutions. Your daily responsibilities involve supporting the Dean and Faculty Board in all official business, providing professional and personnel leadership to the Dean’s Office staff, and managing the faculty's financial resources, including budgeting and controlling. You will act as a central liaison between university leadership, central administration, and associated research centers such as DKFZ and EMBL. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who can navigate complex academic governance, manage faculty committees, and interpret legal frameworks like higher education laws. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Natural Sciences or Life Sciences, including a Doctorate (PhD).

Experience

  • Experience in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Proven ability to work with legal texts and examination regulations
  • Experience in managing internal and external institutional communications
