Job Summary

This position involves the development and evaluation of AI-based smartphone experiments for physics education, bridging the gap between complex everyday phenomena and classroom learning. Working between the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Education Heidelberg, the successful candidate will utilize Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) to help students interpret experimental data, such as images and video. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing instructional materials, conducting empirical field studies, and supporting the establishment of a student laboratory. This role is particularly attractive for those seeking academic qualification, as it explicitly offers the opportunity to pursue a Doctorate (PhD) or Habilitation. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or State Examination (Examen) in Physics or Physics Education (Lehramt) with excellent grades.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and conducting empirical studies or a strong willingness to learn quantitative research methods
  • Experience in developing experiments using digital mobile devices and AI tools
  • Demonstrated ability in academic publishing and presenting at international conferences
  • Experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research environments

Additional
