Job Summary
The Pedagogical University of Heidelberg is seeking a Laboratory Technician (75% position, initially limited to one year as a sickness cover with potential for permanent employment) to support the Institute for Scientific and Technical Education, specifically in Physics. The role involves the technical and organizational management of the extensive collection of electrical, mechanical, thermal, acoustic, optical, and astronomical equipment and teaching materials. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining the equipment, supporting teaching staff, researchers, and students with experiment preparation for courses, research, and school placements, and assisting with procurement and database maintenance for the equipment inventory. Candidates must have completed vocational training as a Laboratory Technician (preferably in Physics), possess strong technical and manual skills, and demonstrate a high degree of independence in laboratory organization and a team-oriented work style. This position offers a diverse and interesting field of work within a small team and flexible working hours.
