Job Summary

As a Data Engineer at SIGNAL IDUNA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data-driven future of one of Germany's largest insurance and financial service providers. Based in Hamburg or Dortmund, you will be responsible for the professional conception of Data Warehouse (DWH) architecture, focusing on sustainable data modeling, seamless integration, and high data quality. Your day-to-day involves defining requirements for ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring metadata transparency, and managing the smooth operation and performance of the DWH. You will act as a critical bridge between business users and IT, translating complex requirements into technical solutions while ensuring compliance with GDPR standards. Required Skills

Education

University degree with an analytical focus (e.g., Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics) or a comparable professional qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in data engineering and modern Data Warehouse concepts
  • Proven experience with SQL and database management
  • Practical experience in designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is highly preferred
  • Experience in the financial or insurance industry is an advantage, particularly in P&C insurance
  • Professional experience in a cross-functional interface role between business and IT
