Job Summary
This role is based within the Petter research group, focusing on tropical malaria research. As a laboratory professional, you will support fundamental research into the pathogenicity and development of malaria parasites to help identify new therapeutic targets. Your daily responsibilities include the independent planning, execution, and evaluation of cell biological and molecular biological experiments. You will manage laboratory operations, maintain cell cultures, and perform complex techniques such as transfection, selection, and validation of transgenic cell lines. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with modern, versatile methods in an international environment. The role is unique for its focus on global health challenges and offers the stability of a public service contract (TV-L) within a highly motivated, collaborative scientific team at a University Hospital.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MTL/MTLA).
Experience
- Professional experience in molecular and cell biological methods such as cloning and PCR
- Experience in the independent planning and execution of laboratory experiments
- Experience in maintaining cell cultures and managing laboratory workflows
- Experience working in a collaborative research or clinical laboratory environment
