Job Summary

This role offers an ambitious scientist the opportunity to pursue a PhD within the International PhD Programme (IPP) in Mainz, specifically joining the research group of Petra Beli. The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge project titled 'Decoding the RNA Damage Response: Mechanisms of Repair and Signaling.' Day-to-day activities involve investigating how RNA damage, specifically RNA-protein crosslinks caused by reactive aldehydes or chemotherapy, impacts cellular health. The researcher will utilize advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, with a heavy focus on quantitative proteomics, to uncover how cells detect and repair these lesions. This position is highly attractive as it provides a fully funded research environment, access to state-of-the-art core facilities, and professional skills training within a diverse community of over 200 international students. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
