Job Summary

The Division of B Cell Immunology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a motivated Technical Assistant to join their protein design team. In this role, you will be instrumental in setting up laboratory infrastructure and optimizing high-throughput protein characterization protocols using cell-free and E. coli-based assays. Your daily responsibilities include establishing screening methods such as FACS, magnetic sorting, and next-generation sequencing, while collaborating closely with computational design experts. You will manage data analysis and visualization using statistical software and MS Office. Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Technical Assistant (BTA, MTA, CTA, or TA) or an equivalent degree in a relevant biological or chemical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in molecular cloning techniques within E. coli environments
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and analyzing experimental data
  • Experience with cloning software such as SnapGene and sequencing library preparation
  • Prior experience in cell-free and E. coli protein expression and purification is highly desirable
  • Experience working in a diverse, international research environment
