Job Summary

As a Project Manager for External CMC Development at Bayer, you will play a pivotal role in the chemical process research and development of new active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Your daily responsibilities include providing scientific leadership for the optimization of production processes, assessing chemical routes, and managing the scale-up of manufacturing plants. You will act as a vital bridge between internal R&D teams and external Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs), ensuring that API supply is safe, cost-efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. Ph.D. in Chemistry

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry specifically in Chemical Process R&D and API production optimization
  • Extensive experience in managing external partners or working within a CDMO environment
  • Proven track record in scientific leadership and coordinating complex interdisciplinary projects
  • Experience in defining drug substance development strategies and supporting IND/IMPD filings
  • Experience with peptide development is considered a distinct advantage
