Job Summary

This role bridges the gap between medical image computing research and Helmholtz-wide research software consulting. As a Research Software Engineer and HIFIS Consultant, you will engage in day-to-day software development using C++ and Python, contributing to the Medical Imaging Interaction Toolkit (MITK) and managing diverse medical data modalities. Beyond coding, you will act as a strategic advisor to research groups across the Helmholtz Association, providing expert guidance on software architecture, testing, CI/CD, and sustainable development workflows. You will also play a key role in open-source licensing, community building, and representing the organization in international consortia.
