Job Summary

This role is part of the DRESDEN-concept Research Group 'AAI' at ScaDS.AI, focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence and digital aircraft design. As a Research Associate, you will conduct foundational and applied research into Deep Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate complex process chains for the aviation and energy sectors. Your daily activities will include developing efficient ML/AI software solutions, preparing publications for international journals, and presenting findings at global machine learning conferences. The position offers a unique opportunity to work between the Technical University of Dresden (TUD) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), contributing to the green energy transition through innovative virtual product design. You will benefit from dedicated mentoring and a high-performance computing infrastructure within a globally recognized AI competence center. The contract is fixed-term for three years with the explicit goal of obtaining a doctorate (PhD).

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Modeling and Simulation, Physics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Large Language Models
  • Experience in software development using Python, C++, or Fortran
  • Experience with ML software solutions such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics or High-Performance Computing is preferred
  • Proven ability to conduct scientific research and prepare international publications
