This full-time research position at the Chair of Geoinformatics at TU Dresden involves working on the DFG-funded project 'Chat4Data,' focusing on conversational geographic question-answering systems. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will build and maintain data corpora for scientific geographic inquiries, design and implement automated testing strategies for systems based on geographic knowledge graphs, and conduct user-centered evaluations. The role offers a three-year fixed-term contract with the explicit opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree (PhD). Required Skills

Education

Master of Science or Diploma in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research or geoinformatics
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, R, or Java
  • Experience in working with Semantic Web standards (RDF, SPARQL) is preferred
  • Experience in structured academic writing and research methodology
