Job Summary

This role is part of the DRESDEN-concept Research Group 'AAI' at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig, focusing on the automation of digital airplane design through Artificial Intelligence. As a Research Associate or PhD candidate, you will engage in cutting-edge research involving Deep Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate complex process chains relevant to the green energy transition and aviation. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing efficient ML/AI software solutions, preparing publications for internationally renowned journals, and presenting findings at major conferences. You will collaborate closely with the German Aerospace Center (DLR-SP) and international industry partners. This position offers a unique opportunity to pursue a doctorate within a leading German AI excellence center, benefiting from dedicated mentoring and a highly interdisciplinary, innovative research environment in Dresden.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Modeling and Simulation, Physics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience or academic background in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Large Language Models
  • Experience in developing ML software solutions using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience in scientific research and preparation of international publications
  • Technical experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics or High-Performance Computing is preferred
  • Experience in collaborative research projects with industrial or international partners
