Job Summary

This role is based at the Chair of Geoinformatics within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at TU Dresden. As a Research Associate and PhD Candidate, you will contribute to the DFG-funded project 'Chat4Data.' Your daily responsibilities will involve building and maintaining a data corpus for scientific geographic question answering, as well as designing and implementing automated testing strategies for conversational systems based on geographic knowledge graphs. Additionally, you will conduct user-centered evaluations of these systems. This position offers a unique opportunity for academic qualification, specifically towards a doctorate, within one of Germany's Universities of Excellence. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about the intersection of Geoinformatics and Human-Computer Interaction, providing a structured yet proactive research environment for three years. Required Skills

Education

Master of Science or Diploma in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research within the field of Computer Science or Geoinformatics
  • Experience in programming using languages such as Python, R, or Java
  • Experience with Semantic Web standards like RDF and SPARQL is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in structured and proactive project work
