Job Summary

This research-focused role is based at the Chair of Bioprospecting within the Center for Molecular Bioengineering (B CUBE) at TUD Dresden. As a PhD candidate, you will contribute to a DFG-funded project investigating the morphogenesis of omniphobic nano-ornamentations on springtail cuticles. Your daily work involves utilizing state-of-the-art biochemical, genomic, transcriptomic, and cell biological tools to understand how these soil-dwelling arthropods develop surfaces that repel both water and oil. You will work in a highly collaborative environment alongside partners from the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research and the Senckenberg Institute. This position is particularly attractive for researchers seeking to combine molecular biology with materials science in an international setting. The role offers a 65% part-time contract for three years, providing a structured pathway to obtain a doctoral degree while being remunerated according to the E 13 TV-L salary scale.
