Job Summary
As a Medical Physicist at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Dresden, you will play a pivotal role in bridging cancer research and clinical application. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve operating advanced imaging devices, including dual-energy CT and integrated PET/MRI scanners, to optimize new therapies and investigate innovative radio-tracers. You will be tasked with establishing and optimizing imaging protocols, providing comprehensive support to project partners from experimental design through to data quantification. A critical aspect of the role includes ensuring radiation safety and serving as a radiation protection officer. Additionally, you will oversee the research PACS system and act as the primary contact for image processing and archiving. Required Skills
Education
Specialist knowledge/certification in radiation protection for nuclear medicine and/or diagnostic radiology (German 'Fachkunde' equivalent); Degree in Physics, Medical Physics, or a related scientific field.
Experience
- Professional experience in nuclear medicine or diagnostic radiology
- Practical experience with clinical PACS systems and handling DICOM data
- Technical experience in Python or MATLAB for scientific computing and image processing
- Experience in establishing and optimizing imaging protocols in a research or clinical context
Languages
Additional
- Appointment as radiation protection officer is foreseen. Proof of immunity against measles is required per the Infection Protection Act (IfSG). Position is initially limited to 2 years. Location: Dresden, Germany.
