Job Summary

As a Research Associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques (FHR), you will join the 'Radar Intelligence' research group to develop cutting-edge methods for detecting, tracking, and characterizing space objects. Your day-to-day work involves developing and implementing advanced signal processing algorithms, data fusion techniques, and simulations for radar networks and phased-array systems. You will translate complex physical principles into efficient code and contribute to international research projects aimed at protecting satellite infrastructure from space debris. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in signal processing, data analysis, and sensor data fusion
  • Proven experience in programming with Python or comparable languages
  • Experience in implementing complex physical relationships into efficient software code
  • Background in independent scientific documentation and presentation of research results
  • Experience in radar technology, astrodynamics, or machine learning is highly desirable
