Job Summary

This role involves managing and coordinating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the Agriculture, Environment, and Veterinary Office of the Uckermark District. You will be responsible for the provision, maintenance, and processing of environmental data, including data conversion, selection, and intersection for use in WebGIS and physical mapping. A significant portion of the role focuses on coordinating statements as a public interest representative (TÖB) for urban land-use planning, building regulations, and environmental law procedures. You will act as a central interface for data transfer between the district administration, planning offices, and other public authorities. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in public administration or environmental sciences who enjoy technical data management combined with legal coordination. The role offers a collaborative work environment in Prenzlau with 30 days of annual leave and a structured salary according to TVöD-VKA group 9b. This is a fixed-term replacement position expected to last until March 31, 2027.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Public Administration (Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/Verwaltungsfachwirt) or a university degree in Ecology, Environmental Protection, Environmental Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration or environmental management
  • Proven experience in handling and maintaining Geographic Information Systems (specifically QGIS)
  • Experience in coordinating legal statements and participating as a representative of public interests (TÖB)
  • Experience in processing environmental data and creating cartographic materials
