Job Summary

This role is part of the Helmholtz Association's HPC Gateway initiative at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the digitalization of existing buildings and facilities within the GSI/FAIR research infrastructure. Your day-to-day work involves high-tech data collection using laser scanning, photogrammetry, and 360° imaging, followed by the processing and quality assurance of 3D data using Machine Learning and BIM/IFC standards. You will bridge the gap between high-performance computing (HPC) and physical infrastructure by integrating digital twin models. This position is ideal for an engineer with a strong IT affinity and project management skills who enjoys working at the intersection of cutting-edge science and industrial application.
