Job Summary

This role involves the technical management and administration of administrative IT applications at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, installation, and configuration of the 'gfos' time tracking system and the 'eCLIQ' locking system. Your daily activities will include providing technical user support, troubleshooting system errors, and leading or supporting technical projects to implement new functionalities. This position is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on administration and project management within a world-class scientific research environment. You will work in a highly technical, international atmosphere in Darmstadt, contributing to the infrastructure that supports one of the world's largest research projects (FAIR). Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or a completed vocational training in IT combined with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems, including operating systems, databases, and application support
  • Experience in technical project management or willingness to take on project leadership tasks
  • Experience with commercial locking systems or time recording software is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting and technical user support
