Job Summary
As a Policy Officer within the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), you will play a vital role in securing Germany's digital future. Working in the 'Critical Infrastructure - Principles' unit, you will be responsible for the conceptual development and refinement of processes designed to protect essential national services (KRITIS). Your daily tasks will include creating recommendations and guidelines for state-of-the-art IT security, contributing to strategic legislative projects, and representing the BSI in various committees and workshops. You will also support incident management and reporting within the BSI Situation Center. This position is ideal for analytical professionals who enjoy strategic work and want to contribute to societal safety. The role offers a high degree of flexibility with mobile working options, a secure public service contract (TVöD E 13/E 14), and long-term career development opportunities, including the potential for civil servant status.
Required Skills
Education
Completed or nearly completed Master's degree (or University Diploma) in Physics, Computer Science, IT Security, IT Management, or a comparable field with an IT focus.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT security for critical infrastructures or comparable sectors is highly desirable
- Experience in the conceptual development and further development of organizational tasks and processes
- Experience in drafting technical recommendations, guidelines, and security standards (e.g., B3S)
- Experience representing organizational positions in committees, workshops, or strategic legislative projects
- Proven ability in structured process management and strategic work
