Job Summary
This part-time position (approx. 20 hours/week) is based within the building and property management department of the City of Cologne, a leading municipal enterprise. You will be responsible for the independent processing of complex business transactions, managing provisions, and resolving difficult accounting questions, particularly regarding the classification of construction costs. A significant portion of the role involves serving as a key contact for the treasury and tax departments, handling intricate tax law issues such as VAT regulations for public entities. You will also coordinate annual financial statements, management reports, and payment transactions. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Administrative Sciences, Public Administration/Management, Law, or Economics; alternatively, completion of Administrative Course II or qualification for the Civil Service (Career Group 2, 1st entry level).
Experience
- Professional experience in double-entry bookkeeping according to the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Practical experience in municipal finance (NKF) or public sector accounting
- Experience in handling complex accounting cases and tax law queries
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is desirable
- Experience within municipal enterprises or the housing industry is preferred

- This is a 0.5 part-time position (19.5 - 20.5 hours per week). The role is permanent and located in Cologne. Applicants must be willing to undergo further training for administrative employees if required. Position is graded at TVöD 9c or A 10 LBesG NRW.
