Job Summary
This leadership position involves heading the Infrastructure Department for the City of Cologne, where you will oversee the technical and disciplinary supervision of staff. Your day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring the security and continuous updating of critical IT infrastructures in compliance with NIS2 regulations and civil emergency planning. You will be instrumental in steering efficient, service-oriented IT operations while implementing modern IT service management (ITSM) processes. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (Master's, Magister, or University Diploma) in Computer Science or a comparable IT-related field of study.
Experience
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a relevant IT field, specifically within a senior management or high-level civil service context.
- Professional experience in managing complex IT architectures and system components.
- Proven track record in implementing IT security measures and BSI standards.
- Experience in designing modern work environments and leading organizational transformation processes.
- Experience in technical and organizational mapping of emergency planning for large public sector entities.

- Candidates must meet the qualifications for the German 'Laufbahngruppe 2, 2. Einstiegsamt' (formerly higher civil service). The role requires occasional support for local elections (up to three days per election). Location: Cologne, Germany.
