Job Summary

This role is for an Open Data Competence Center Specialist based in Neubrandenburg, Germany, focusing on driving digitalization within local government. The specialist will act as a key liaison between various departments, advising on Open Data, data management, and data quality. Day-to-day tasks involve organizing and managing data processes, conducting data inventories, maintaining the Open Data portal, and designing and delivering training sessions to foster organization-wide awareness of data importance. The ideal candidate will have a background in library science, data management, or related fields, with a strong understanding of IT systems, data standards, and a passion for networking and promoting Open Data initiatives. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Library Science, Data Management / Data Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), Communication Sciences, and/or Vocational training as a Media and Information Services Specialist (FAMI), Market and Social Research Specialist (FAMS), Documentalist, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in data management (if holding a comparable qualification)
  • Professional experience in data management
  • Professional experience with IT system landscapes
  • Professional experience in quickly adapting to new topics and systems
  • Professional experience in building and expanding networks

Languages

German (Fluent)
