Job Summary

As an R&D Specialist in HPLC, you will play a pivotal role within the Instrumental Analytics - Spectrometry and Separation Science department at Roche. Your daily responsibilities will involve addressing complex analytical challenges beyond routine tasks, specifically focusing on the development and optimization of robust methods to characterize chemical and biochemical raw materials. You will be responsible for planning and executing sophisticated chromatographic and spectrometric analyses, including HPLC, UPLC, and ESI-MS. A key part of the role involves validating these methods and ensuring their successful transfer to other departments like Quality Control. Additionally, you will handle raw data evaluation, technical documentation in both German and English, and the maintenance/troubleshooting of complex analytical instrumentation. This position is ideal for a proactive scientist who enjoys collaborative teamwork and wants to contribute to high-quality diagnostic standards. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor, Master, or Diploma in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or Pharmacy.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in instrumental analytics, depending on the level of academic degree.
  • Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in HPLC/UPLC and mass spectrometry.
  • Proven experience in the development and optimization of analytical methods.
  • Professional experience working within a regulated environment (GxP) and following pharmaceutical quality guidelines.

Additional

  • This is a fixed-term contract for a duration of two years. Candidates must be able to work on-site and participate in safety functions and work organization within the laboratory.
