Job Summary

As an IT Security Manager at Bayerische Staatsforsten (BaySF), one of Europe's largest forestry enterprises, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the digital infrastructure of a public law institution committed to climate protection and sustainable forest management. Based in either Munich or Regensburg, your daily responsibilities involve developing and implementing IT security policies, conducting risk analyses, and managing vulnerability assessments. You will coordinate security measures, oversee incident management, and lead internal and external security audits. A significant part of the role includes sensitizing and training staff on data protection and security topics. This position is particularly attractive due to its public sector security (TV-L salary scale), flexible working arrangements including home office options, and the opportunity to work for an environmentally conscious employer. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field with a focus on IT Security; or a completed IT vocational training with several years of relevant professional experience and security qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of IT security, information security, or IT compliance
  • Practical experience in incident, risk, and vulnerability management
  • Experience in planning and supporting internal and external IT security audits
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing IT security guidelines and processes

Additional

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are preferred. Willingness to travel between Munich and Regensburg locations if required. Must be eligible to work for a German public sector employer.
