Job Summary

As an IT Release Management Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring the digital future-readiness of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the planning, coordination, and monitoring of the entire release process for cross-sectional applications. You will be responsible for creating detailed schedules for application updates, moderating coordination meetings with stakeholders, and managing maintenance windows. Beyond technical coordination, you will handle 2nd-level support, error analysis, and process documentation. This role is unique as it offers the opportunity to work on one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures within a socially relevant context. You will contribute to the continuous improvement process (CSI) and provide expert advice on shaping release strategies. The position is ideal for professionals who thrive in structured IT Service Management environments and enjoy a mix of technical oversight and stakeholder communication.

Required Skills

Education

Completed 3-year technical vocational training plus additional qualifications (e.g., Technical Specialist, Technician, or Master Craftsman) or a completed university degree in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Approximately 5 years of professional experience in a relevant technical field (for candidates with vocational training and additional qualifications such as Technician or Master Craftsman)
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant field following a university degree
  • Proven experience in project support and IT Service Management environments
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and monitoring complex IT release processes
  • Experience in conducting and moderating coordination rounds with various stakeholders

German (Fluent)
