Job Summary

The Quality Control Microbiology Testing Lead is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring robust, cGMP-compliant microbiological testing at Bayer's Berlin site. You will lead and develop a laboratory team to deliver high-quality results that support product safety, quality, and reliable operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing QCM processes for products and environments, managing the lifecycle of analytical test methods, and driving continuous improvement in microbiological workflows. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will represent the department during inspections and audits while providing technical expertise to cross-functional partners and value streams. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent) in Biology with a focus on Microbiology or a related Life Science field; a PhD is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in a GMP-regulated environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional or laboratory-based teams
  • Extensive expertise in microbiological testing, contamination control, and environmental monitoring
  • Solid understanding of regulatory expectations and pharmaceutical standards
  • Experience in analytical methods and laboratory equipment management
