Job Summary

As a Senior Expert in Geo-Information Systems, you will join the 'GeoInfo, Analytics & Simulation' unit to support the digital transformation of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Your primary responsibility involves building and leading a new engineering team focused on operating and evolving complex GIS systems, specifically based on ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, and Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) data systems. You will manage the migration of these systems to the BWI infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. Day-to-day tasks include planning, monitoring, and optimizing database environments, implementing IT security standards (BSI-Grundschutz), and automating administrative workflows. This role is unique as it places you at the intersection of national security and cutting-edge geospatial technology, offering the chance to manage one of Germany's most complex IT infrastructures while driving standardization and automation in a mission-critical environment.
