Job Summary

As a Specialist System Engineer at the IT-Systemhaus of the Federal Employment Agency (BA), you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining one of Germany's largest IT landscapes. Working within an agile Scrum environment, you will be responsible for the full-stack development of core master data management systems (STEP) and online services. Your daily activities include designing software architectures, developing frontend and backend components using modern frameworks, and ensuring system security and availability. This role is unique for its significant social impact, supporting systems that manage data for 41 million people. The position offers high flexibility with up to 80% remote work options and multiple location choices across Germany. You will act as a technical lead, providing coaching and knowledge transfer while managing projects through all phases, from requirement analysis to deployment in a cloud-based infrastructure.

Required Skills

Education

University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Computer Science or Business Informatics.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in software development or IT infrastructure
  • Professional experience in designing and developing full-stack software architectures
  • Experience in providing technical coaching and knowledge transfer to team members
  • Experience in managing IT projects through all phases, including resource and milestone planning
  • Experience with container-based architectures and cloud-based application scaling
  • Experience in requirement analysis and product development
