Job Summary

The Technical University of Braunschweig is seeking a Project Manager to lead the 'Digital Science Support Team' (DS³), a collaborative initiative between the University Library and the Gauß-IT-Zentrum. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic management and coordination of a joint project involving six support teams across Lower Saxony. Your day-to-day activities will include establishing coordination structures with partner universities, managing steering committees, and ensuring technical synergies between High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems and research software engineering. This position is ideal for a professional with a background in STEM who enjoys networking within the scientific community and wants to shape the future of research digitalization. It offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, HPC, and Research Data Management (RDM) while contributing to innovative projects and scientific publications. The role is initially fixed-term until June 2030, with an extension intended.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in a STEM subject. A completed Doctorate (PhD) is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development within a scientific or academic environment
  • Experience in project management and leadership
  • Proven track record in coordinating multi-institutional projects or steering committees
  • Active involvement or networking within the RSE, HPC, or FDM communities
  • Experience with modern software development methods and code optimization
