Job Summary

This role involves managing the administrative and organizational heart of the Institute for Transport and Urban Engineering at TU Braunschweig. As the primary support for the Institute Director, you will oversee the secretariat and provide essential administrative relief to a dedicated team of scientists. Your daily responsibilities include managing budget funds (state, third-party, and tuition quality funds), handling personnel matters, and organizing business trips and events. You will also serve as a central communication hub, interacting with university administration, guests, scholarship holders, and lecturers in both German and English. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of financial management, human resources administration, and office organization. Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of Administrative Training I (Verwaltungslehrgang I) or an equivalent vocational training completed with a public-law employer. Alternatively, a completed commercial or administrative vocational qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration or a university environment is highly preferred
  • Extensive experience in the management of third-party funds and household budgeting
  • Proven experience in office organization and secretarial leadership
  • Experience in handling personnel matters and travel expense accounting
  • Professional experience using SAP R/3 and standard office software
