Job Summary

This role is based at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) within the Research and Development Center for Mining Consequences (FEZB) in Cottbus. As a Chemical Laboratory Technician or Chemical-Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the analysis of water and aqueous solutions to support the sustainable design of post-mining landscapes. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing inorganic analysis using ICP-OES spectrometry, Ion Chromatography (IC), and TIC/TOC total carbon determination. You will be responsible for calibrating equipment, ensuring laboratory quality control, and developing new analytical methods. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician (Chemielaborant) or Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA).

Experience

  • Professional experience in ICP-OES analysis and Ion Chromatography
  • Experience in sample preparation specifically for water analysis
  • Proven experience in laboratory quality assurance and inorganic water analysis
  • Experience in planning and organizing laboratory work processes
  • Preferred: Previous experience working for a federal authority or research institution
