This role involves supporting the 'Third Nationwide Forest Soil Condition Survey (BZE III)' at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR). As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of soil and plant samples, from organizing incoming samples to performing complex extractions such as aqua regia digestion. A significant portion of the work involves instrumental analysis, specifically using ICP-OES to measure trace elements, and managing the resulting data within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). You will ensure high quality standards through rigorous quality assurance protocols and documentation. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Laboratory Technician or Technical Assistant (e.g., Chemical Technical Assistant - CTA, Environmental Technical Assistant - UTA, or Biological Technical Assistant - BTA).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the investigation of environmental media such as soil, rock, water, or plants
  • Practical experience in analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis
  • Experience in quality control of measurement results
  • Experience in soil chemical analysis is preferred
  • Experience operating ICP-OES equipment is preferred
