Job Summary

As a Payroll Specialist for the Central Payroll Office of the Diocese of Speyer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 6,500 employees. Your daily activities include independently calculating wages and salaries, managing sick pay, and maintaining digital personnel master data. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding all payroll-related inquiries and handle communication with external authorities such as health insurance providers and social security agencies. This role offers a high degree of responsibility within a structured and detail-oriented environment. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in a relevant commercial field (e.g., Social Security Specialist, Tax Assistant, or Office Management) ideally supplemented by further training in payroll.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting
  • Experience in communicating with social security agencies and government authorities
  • Proven experience in applying tax and social security regulations
  • Professional experience in a commercial or administrative environment

  • Identification with the goals and values of the Catholic Church and the prevention principles of the Diocese of Speyer is required. Candidates must be available for a full-time (39 hours per week) permanent position in Speyer.
