Job Summary

As a Laboratory Technician at the Chair of Spacecraft Systems at the Technical University of Munich, you will play a pivotal role in supporting cutting-edge aerospace research and development. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the independent development, assembly, and testing of electronic prototypes featuring MCUs, MPUs, and FPGAs. You will act as a technical mentor for students, guiding them through electronics development and troubleshooting, while also maintaining sophisticated laboratory equipment and automation systems. This role is unique for its high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work on advanced sensor development and spacecraft applications within a world-renowned academic environment. You will bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation, ensuring that laboratory operations meet high safety and efficiency standards while collaborating with international researchers on interdisciplinary space technology projects.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician (State-certified Technician), or an equivalent technical degree in Radio Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in PCB design, sensor integration, and communication protocols
  • Practical experience in developing and testing electronic devices with MCUs, MPUs, and FPGAs
  • Experience in the maintenance and operation of laboratory automation systems
  • Experience in supporting student or research projects in a technical capacity
  • Preferred: Experience in an academic or research environment, specifically with hardware-based algorithms or neural networks
