Job Summary

This role involves working within the Stable Isotope laboratory at the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) in Freiburg. You will be responsible for the preparation and analytical processing of food samples to verify authenticity, such as regional origin and organic production status. Day-to-day tasks include operating sophisticated analytical equipment like Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) coupled with gas chromatography or elemental analyzers, and documenting results in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You will also contribute to developing new testing methods and supervising trainees. This position is ideal for someone passionate about consumer protection who enjoys high-tech analytical work. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemical Laboratory Technician, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical laboratory analysis or as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA)
  • Experience with modern instrumental analytical techniques and mass spectrometry
  • Practical experience in technical maintenance of complex laboratory measuring instruments
  • Experience in documenting results within laboratory data systems
  • Experience in a research-oriented or consumer protection environment is preferred
