Job Summary

As a Quality Control Technician specializing in Environmental Monitoring at Lilly's new high-tech production facility in Alzey, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of injectable medicines. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing environmental monitoring (EM) in classified cleanroom environments, including RABS and isolators, as well as sampling and analyzing utility systems like WFI and purified water. You will support the microbiology laboratory with sample incubation, evaluation, and data verification while maintaining strict compliance with cGMP standards and data integrity protocols. This position offers the unique opportunity to be part of a greenfield project for a global healthcare leader, helping to build a site that will eventually employ 1,000 specialists. You will work within a collaborative team focused on excellence and integrity, contributing to continuous improvement projects and ensuring inspection readiness for regulatory authorities.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in a scientific field (e.g., Biology Laboratory Technician - BTA, Chemistry Laboratory Technician - CTA) or a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, preferably with a focus on Microbiology.

Experience

  • Ideally 3 years of relevant experience in environmental monitoring within a GMP pharmaceutical production facility
  • Experience in aseptic production environments is preferred
  • Proven ability to perform monitoring techniques for surfaces, air, compressed air, and water systems
  • Experience working with laboratory IT systems such as LIMS, LES, or MODA
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and maintaining inspection readiness
