Job Summary

This critical role within the Brandenburg State Police involves the forensic examination and evaluation of digital evidence, specifically focusing on cases involving illegal child and youth pornography. As an IT Forensic Specialist, you will perform preliminary data carrier investigations, ensure the integrity of backups, and utilize specialized forensic software such as X-Ways, Griffeye, and NiKi-KI to process evidence. You will be responsible for creating legally defensible forensic reports, archiving results, and presenting your findings as an expert witness in court. The position also includes the administration of data backup and evaluation technology. This role is highly unique and attractive for those seeking to apply high-level technical skills to public safety and criminal justice. Due to the nature of the evidence handled, candidates must possess exceptional psychological resilience. The position offers a permanent contract, flexible working hours, and the stability of the German public service (TV-L E11).

Required Skills

Education

Technical degree or qualification in Technical Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (with verifiable qualifications).

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a technical IT field
  • Professional experience in data acquisition and processing
  • Proven experience with various operating systems and office software
  • Experience in creating technical investigation reports for legal or official use

Additional

  • High level of psychological resilience is mandatory due to daily exposure to sensitive material. Must undergo a background check (Führungszeugnis).
