Job Summary

This role is part of the prestigious 'The Mars Perspective' Excellence Cluster at the University of Bremen, focusing on the 'Mars Production Laboratory.' You will be responsible for implementing monitoring and control systems within a research environment that simulates extraterrestrial conditions to study resource-efficient manufacturing. Day-to-day tasks include configuring hardware and software, managing bus systems and networks, and implementing communication protocols like MQTT. You will analyze sensor-based control functions and support researchers in operating these complex systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to space exploration and sustainability research within a highly interdisciplinary and international team at the ZARM and Leibniz-IWT institutes. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or FH Diploma) in Computer Science or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in automation or systems technology

  • Experience in setting up and adapting hardware interfaces
  • Practical experience with microcontrollers and single-board computers
  • Experience in implementing communication protocols and network configurations
