Job Summary

This role at the Clinic for Cardiology and Angiology in Heidelberg involves overseeing the data governance strategy and management workflows for a scientific consortium. You will be responsible for assessing current data practices, ensuring DFG compliance, and maintaining the technical infrastructure for large-scale scientific data, including the SODAR system and iRODS. Day-to-day tasks include managing data transfers, ensuring metadata quality using controlled vocabularies, and providing training to researchers. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience).

Experience

  • Professional experience in data governance and research data management
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale scientific data and modern OMICS datasets
  • Experience with Unix-like environments and programming (preferably Python)
  • Experience in maintaining code bases and using Git
  • 5+ years of experience required if holding a Bachelor's degree
