Job Summary

As a Bioinformatics Scientist at Heidelberg University Hospital, you will work at the cutting edge of molecular genetic diagnostics for brain tumors. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing, maintaining, and operating bioinformatics workflows for NGS and Nanopore sequencing data. You will be expected to proactively identify technical gaps, optimize infrastructure, and implement new analysis pipelines to support both research projects and clinical diagnostics. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close interaction with laboratory scientists and clinicians to integrate new assays into end-to-end workflows. The position is particularly attractive due to its affiliation with one of Germany's leading medical centers and the opportunity to publish scientific research. You will benefit from a flexible working environment, state-of-the-art technical equipment, and a comprehensive benefits package including a company pension and childcare support. It is an ideal role for a self-driven scientist looking to make a tangible clinical impact in neuropathology.
