Job Summary
As an HPC Performance and Data Management Engineer at GWDG, you will join the 'Computing' workgroup to support the Digital Science Support Space Lower Saxony (DS3) project. Your daily responsibilities will involve consulting with researchers on developing HPC-ready software, providing performance analysis tools, and advising on large-scale data management and data-centric workflows. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between high-performance computing, AI, and scientific research. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master's or Bachelor's) in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience
- Extensive experience in using performance analysis tools on HPC systems
- Professional experience in parallelization techniques using MPI and OpenMP
- Proven experience in Linux environments including Bash scripting and containerization
- Experience in customer-oriented technical functions or user support is preferred
- Experience handling large datasets and utilizing AI tools in software development is advantageous

- The position is initially fixed-term until September 30, 2030. Candidates must be available for a regular 39-hour work week, though part-time is possible. The role is located in Göttingen, Germany.
