Job Summary

This role involves joining the High-Performance Computing (HPC) team at GWDG to support the 'Digital Science Support Space Lower Saxony' project. You will be responsible for advising scientists on developing HPC-ready research software, providing performance analysis tools, and managing large-scale data workflows. Day-to-day activities include optimizing software performance using parallelization techniques, implementing AI tools in software development, and conducting training sessions for researchers. The position is highly collaborative, working alongside operational and research teams to enhance scalable AI and quantum computing services. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or Bachelor's) in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in high-performance computing and data management
  • Extensive experience in using performance analysis tools on HPC systems
  • Proven experience in parallel programming using MPI and OpenMP
  • Professional experience in Linux environments including shell scripting and containerization
  • Experience in customer-oriented technical support or service roles is desirable
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is preferred

Additional
