Job Summary

As an IT Database Administrator within the Department of Preventive Cardiology and Medical Prevention, you will be responsible for the administration and operation of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing user rights, maintaining system stability, and performing data engineering tasks to develop robust data pipelines. You will play a critical role in supporting modern IT structures and building advanced data architectures such as Data Warehouses and Data Lakes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-level research projects in collaboration with prestigious academic and industrial partners like Bayer and Boehringer. The role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys interdisciplinary teamwork and is motivated by working with large-scale bio-databases and high-dimensional data structures. The position is initially fixed-term until December 31, 2027, and offers flexible working hours including mobile work options.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training or a degree in a relevant field; career changers with solid technical knowledge are also considered.

Experience

  • Professional experience in database administration and operation
  • Experience in data engineering and the development of data pipelines
  • Proven knowledge of IT stability and security concepts
  • Experience working with multiple SQL dialects
