Job Summary

This role involves the technical commissioning of state-of-the-art electric and diesel-electric locomotives at a production facility in Munich. As a Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for the end-to-end testing process, from initial power-up to final customer delivery. Your daily activities will include performing functional tests according to strict inspection plans, conducting test runs on factory tracks, and executing complex troubleshooting and error analysis. Beyond testing, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and modernization work, and provide technical instructions to international clients. The position is unique for its blend of hands-on workshop activity and field service opportunities, including national and international travel. Candidates must be comfortable working in a two-shift system and possess a strong background in electrical systems and technical problem-solving within the rail industry.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field. Further qualification as a Technician (Techniker) or Master Craftsman (Meister) is preferred.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the commissioning of rail vehicles
  • Experience in electrical fault finding and reading wiring diagrams
  • Experience in performing test runs and customer handovers
  • Experience in maintenance, modification, and modernization of industrial machinery
