Job Summary

This role involves managing and executing complex IT and telecommunications procurement processes for the German federal administration. You will lead challenging tender procedures for software, hardware, and IT services, including specialized areas like server/network technology, IT development/support, cryptography, and police special technology. A key responsibility is providing expert technical, economic, and legal advice to clients such as the Federal Police and Federal Criminal Police Office, overseeing the entire tender process from documentation to completion. You will also coordinate internal and external staff, participate in inter-agency working groups, and act as a scientific advisor, contributing to Germany's digital modernization initiatives within a dynamic public service environment.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Media Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT-related field; OR Electrical and Information Technology, specializing in Information and Communication Technology or Telecommunications; OR a Bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned technical fields combined with a Master's degree in Administrative Sciences, Economic Sciences, or Law; OR a Master's degree in Administrative Sciences or Economic Sciences with an IT focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in project management
  • Professional experience in technical leadership
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Information Technology (if Bachelor's degree in IT combined with Master's in Administration/Economics/Law)
