Job Summary

This role involves working within the 'Immissionsschutz' (Pollution Control) department of the Saxony State Directorate in Dresden. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for drafting complex technical statements regarding air quality control and pollution legislation under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). Your day-to-day duties include monitoring industrial plants that require permits, handling administrative appeals, and providing expert opinions for legal proceedings. You will also support the supervision of lower-level pollution control authorities and address environmental complaints. This position is unique as it offers a chance to contribute directly to public welfare and environmental protection within the state administration. It is a fixed-term parental leave cover until February 2027, offering a professional entry into the public sector with a structured induction plan and the stability of the TV-L collective agreement.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma (minimum 300 ECTS) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Protection Technology, Physics, or a related natural science/engineering field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in applying environmental regulations, specifically in pollution control
  • Experience in drafting technical statements for permit and notification procedures
  • Experience in monitoring industrial plants requiring permits
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the field required if the degree is in a non-specialized engineering or natural science field
  • Experience with administrative or legal appeal processes is preferred

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to drive service vehicles for on-site inspections is mandatory. Must be willing to conduct on-site appointments. Position is fixed-term until February 23, 2027.
